There's no free source for "the actual top 100 coins as of a past date" — that's a paid-tier feature. This instead tracks coins that are big today back through their own history, so a coin that mattered in, say, 2017 but has since died or delisted won't show up here.

Their branding and links stay on these widgets; that's the tradeoff for keeping this section free with no paid data plan.
